Having a long-lasting, happy marriage in Hollywood is a rarity, and something many aspire to have, but perhaps the smiles and red carpet PDA doesn’t always paint the real picture instead, it’s just a case of keeping up appearances.

For couple Will Smith, 55, and Jada Pinkett Smith, 52, despite having faced many rumors and scandals over the years, publicly, they have shown a strong front of love and support for each other, which is why her recent revelations during an interview with the co-anchor Hoda Kotb of the NBS News show, Today has left many shocked.

Whilst discussing the recent release of her memoir “Worthy”, the executive producer of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she her and husband, Will Smith have been living separate lives for the past seven years, since 2016.

In 2020, we watched Jada bring Will to the Red Table talk show to discuss infidelity rumors that had been making headlines. In the episode, Jada revealed that she and Will were going through a difficult time and what started out as Jada having a friendship with August Alsina, became something more, which Jada referred to as a “different kind of entanglement”.

There aren’t many of us that could forget the now infamous, Oscar slapping of Chris Rock who made a ‘joke’ referring to Jada as GI Jane, leaving the audience and viewers around the world absolutely speechless. The actions resulted in a ten-year ban from the Oscars and Academy Events for Will and we now know that during that time, Will and Jada were actually separated, despite Will still referring to Jada as his wife.

Jada, mother to Jayden, 25, and Willow, 22 was questioned about why she didn’t just come out and tell the truth about her marriage, responded with just not being ready yet. She went on to say that they (her and Will) were still trying to figure out how to be in partnership and how to present that to people.

Since the interview aired, Jada has now tried to clarify her situation in a further interview with Today Host, Hoda Kotb, that in terms of her and will today “We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together. Back to a life partnership.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has since posted a cryptic Instagram post on his page, making us think that perhaps he isn’t too fussed about giving opinions on what is being said right now. Jada’s memoir has now been released in Australia.
